Stormy Lighting
Our Stormy Lamp was conceived by folding, tearing, and crushing construction paper in myriad ways before the final form emerged. Black construction paper was crushed and draped over white paper to mimic a dark cloud. The white paper was illuminated with a hidden light source, bringing to mind the sun shining through the clouds. We were able to create the lighting effect by fabricating the lamp with both semi-matte black glass and transparent textured glass. This memesis translates to the opaqueness of the clouds and translucent quality of the light shining through. The intensity of light is regulated by twisting the black glass cloud form.
Materials- black glass, clear glass, warm 3000k temp led bulb, printed steel structure, power cord.
